Boldon Golf Club is at the heart of the local community and welcomes applications for all categories of membership with the annual subscriptions due on 1st April (a variety of payment options are available). The club currently does not have a waiting list or a joining fee. The Club has progressive attitudes regarding equality for all categories yet also retains those golfing traditions which maintain standards. We invite you to play the course before you join, special arrangements can be made with the Secretary regarding your green fees.

Boldon GC currently have an active membership of over 500 with our men's, ladies, seniors and junior sections offering a full competition fixtures schedule aimed at players of all standards (over 70 competitions played during 2024). Several friendly golf events are arranged throughout the year and social events add to the enjoyment of being part of a great golf club. All members of Boldon GC can enjoy reciprocal golf arrangements, for a nominal green fee with Kendal, Crook, Saltburn, South Moor, Stocksfield, Woodham & Wilton Golf Clubs.
Boldon Golf Club – Membership categories (from 1st April 2024). Boldon Golf Club offers a variety of membership categories to suit many different lifestyles and is open to the whole community including those on low or modest incomes to encourage participation in golf. The course is closed on Christmas Day due to the land being owned by the Church of England.
All membership categories include use of the clubs practice ground facility. The membership subscriptions are due on 1st April with an option to pay by Direct Debit (over 12 months) with a 5% levy. Credit or Debit Card payment facilities are available. The flexible payment option is a 12 month commitment. The England Golf, Durham County Golf Union annual subscriptions are included in the membership fee. Each member has the option to gain and maintain an England Golf handicap index and enter competitions arranged by the club and members over the age of 21 have full voting rights at the Annual General Meeting or EGM’s .
2024/25 Membership Fees (annual membership)
Full Membership – This category gives unlimited use of the golf course 364 days per year. Male £805 & Ladies £755
5 Day Membership – This category offers use of the golf course during Monday-Friday each week. £700
Twilight Membership * – This category offers use of the golf course 364 days per year after 2pm during British Summer time and from 12 noon during Winter. £510
Country Membership* – This category gives access to the golf course for one game per week with membership subject to living greater than 30 miles from Boldon Golf Club. £385.
Low Income (CASC) Membership – This category gives free use of golf equipment (not golf shoes) and insurance with access to the golf course Wednesday – Saturday each week of the year. Membership applications are discussed with the club secretary and subject to applicants demonstrating that the full cost of membership would not be affordable. £520 – This fee is fixed each year and will not increase.
Get into Golf Membership * – This category supports the “Get into golf” programme. www.getintogolf.org . This is an initial membership of the Golf Club which does have its own T&C,s. Boldon Golf Club is a “Get into Golf” club, currently welcoming new players to the game and have activities for beginners. Gary Shipley PGA Professional will arrange a Taster Session or series of 1 hour sessions over a number of weeks. Gary can be contacted on garyshipley3@gmail.com. On completion of the Taster Session(s) we hope that you will look to join Boldon Golf Club’s pathway to full membership. Year 1 – Get into Golf membership for £335 will give you access to the Practice Facility and the golf course. You will have the opportunity to meet and play with other New members. We will support you as you strive either to play social golf or aim to play competitively.
How to get a “Handicap” will be explained during you’re Get into Golf journey and to maintain you’re handicap, Get Into Golf members can only join the Midweek competitions and are excluded from playing in the weekend competitions and have limited access to weekend tee times. During either Year 1 or if you find your progress is sufficient that you wish to enter all club competitions, then we ask that you opt out of the Get into Golf pathway membership and join as either a Full, 5 Day or Twilight member.
